About
Driven by 精彩故事 — brilliant stories with a clear voice, strong direction, and global potential.
Iyagushi Literary Agency is a UK-based foreign rights agency specialising in Asian comics, webcomics and related IP, with a focus on international print licensing.

Operating as a foreign rights agent and licensing facilitator, we connect rights holders, independent creators and publishing companies with suitable international partners.

Our work centres on selective title representation, publisher identification, licensing introductions and commercial negotiations, with each collaboration tailored to the rights available and the needs of the parties involved.
Our Mission
To connect Asian stories with international publishing opportunities through thoughtful foreign rights representation, selective licensing facilitation and lasting industry relationships.

Our Approach
We believe international licensing begins with understanding the individual work and identifying publishers whose editorial direction, readership and publishing formats align with its potential.

Rather than pursuing volume-led submissions, we focus on selective opportunities, informed market positioning and meaningful publisher relationships.

Why Iyagushi?
Our approach combines specialist knowledge of Asian comics and webcomics with an understanding of international print publishing markets.

We prioritise transparency, careful publisher selection and communication throughout the licensing process, whether representing a title or facilitating an introduction.
About the Founder
Iyagushi Literary Agency was founded by UK-based foreign rights and licensing specialist Mercedes Anaeto.
Building on several years of publishing-industry experience, she moved into dedicated international rights management, closing more than 100 international publishing and licensing agreements within a 12-month period.
That hands-on experience informs Iyagushi’s title-led approach to international licensing: evaluating each work individually, identifying the most appropriate markets and publishing partners, and supporting rights holders through positioning, outreach, negotiation and deal coordination.
